Tony's encourages more environmentally friendly cocoa production from the farmers they buy their beans from. For example, the cooperatives they work with get a training, helping them to use as few pesticides as possible and to apply fertilizers in a professional and economical manner. Deforestation is strictly prohibited and climate change is becoming an increasingly important issue. In addition, Tony's changed the wrappers of their bars in 2012. Since then, these have been better for the environment. Even the aluminum foil consists of as much recycled material as possible and is made as thin as possible.
